Forwarded on behalf of county Chair Conrad Harvey:
Dear Sons and Daughters of Liberty,
You are hereby invited to join the Mecklenburg county
Libertarian party on March 14th, 12pm, at Texas Land & Cattle to elect a
Mecklenburg Libertarian executive committee and to choose delegates to
represent your county party at the Libertarian state convention.
Aside from electing county officers and Representatives we will also be
focusing on "the Liberty Agenda" as proposed by the North Carolinian
Libertarian Party.
The four-point Liberty Agenda is:
1. End forced annexation and stop private property seizure under the
power of eminent domain by amending the state constitution.
2. Improve public education through school choice and competition.
3. Restore free, fair, and open elections to North Carolina by removing
barriers to ballot access.
4. End all corporate welfare and subsidies.
The primary point we will be focusing on is eminent domain.
According to the 5th Amendment of the US Constitution ( laws irrelevant to
property rights (dbl jeopardy etc) have been left out )
"No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or
property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be
taken for public use without just compensation."
"Forced annexation and the seizure of private property ostensibly for
"public purpose" is a violation of the fundamental rights of Americans.
Forced annexation is not about providing services, or controlling growth.
Forced annexation is about money. Communities should only be annexed with
the consent of those annexed. No government, at any level, should have the
power to take or seize private property for any purpose, without the express
consent of the owner and just compensation."

There will be two speakers at this event. Neubert Purser had his 70 acre
farm taken from him by the "legal" force of the Township of Matthews and was
compensated at less that 50% market value for his land, which lies miles
away from Independence blvd. Mr Purser is an 80 year old, decorated, WWII
veteran, and owner of his farm for over 50 years. His son Mike will be
sharing his father's story with us.
Also speaking at this event will be the ex-county chairman David B.
Schlosser of Coconino county, Arizona who ran for US Congress in Arizona in
2006 (5% in a competitive three-way race) and also ran for mayor of
Flagstaff, AZ and got 20% in a 5 way race. He will be speaking on effective
ways to run Libertarian campaigns.
There will be food provided by the Steakhouse, which is located off of I-85
and Harris blvd in the University area
