[LPmeck] LTE on Involuntary Annexation

Today's Charlotte Observer contains an editorial in support of  
involuntary annexation. I have sent in the LTE below in response. I  
hope that it is short enough to protect it from excessive editing.

To the editor:
The Declaration of Independence states that governments are instituted  
among men to secure our rights. Involuntary annexation turns men into  
cattle who exist for the benefit of government. Such a political  
inversion is contrary to the purpose of our country, and is rejected  
by anyone who values liberty.
